Breakthrough Novel, "Keeping Hannah Waiting," Added to U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Shop Collection

The chance discovery of an enchanting portrait, "Girl with Flowers," sets in motion an epic love story that connects the generations, warms the heart, and puts a human face on history all can appreciate.

PETERBOROUGH, NH, January 13, 2010 /Books PR News/ -- Hologram Publishing announced today that its debut novel, Keeping Hannah Waiting, is now part of the museum shop book collection at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) in Washington, D.C..

"We are deeply honored that one of the world's leading centers of Holocaust education, research, and remembrance has chosen to add 'Hannah' to its bookshelves," said Lynn Tryba, vice president, Hologram Publishing. "This will give the story wings, helping spread its message of tolerance, forgiveness, and the everlasting power of love via the millions of visitors to the museum each year."

Of the USHMM shop's roughly 400-book collection only about 25 are fiction. "We are quite picky about picking up new novels," said Paul Messersmith, buyer for the museum's gift shop.

"To even have 'Hannah' displayed alongside Holocaust literary giants like Wiesel, Uris, Styron, Keneally, and Hersey, and in this setting especially," said Keeping Hannah Waiting author Dave Clarke, "is an honor of inestimable proportion."

Clarke is one of the newest voices in the choir of "Second Gens," children of Holocaust survivors, the next generation to put into perspective the meaning of their parents' experience for themselves, their children, and grandchildren, and who, along with their families, help keep the memories and lessons of the Holocaust alive for future generations.

[subhed] "Time passes. Memories fade. Love lasts forever."

Seamlessly weaving fact and fiction, Keeping Hannah Waiting chronicles the story behind "Girl with Flowers," a previously unknown Chagall portrait, from its discovery in the attic of a Brooklyn, New York home to the epic love story in the weeks leading up to its painting in 1910 Europe, its journey through two world wars, the Holocaust, and back to contemporary times.

Keeping Hannah Waiting is an ode to those who survived the Holocaust and the challenges they faced in picking up what remained of their old lives while building new ones in the long shadow of this, one of the greatest tragedies of all time.
