Linda M. Anderson Recognized for Outstanding Contributions to Society
Linda M. Anderson promotes literacy through Linda's Free Library, a nonprofit organization
TRABUCO CANYON, CA, May 06, 2010 /Books PR News/ -- Linda M. Anderson, Publisher and CEO of Linda's Free Library, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nonprofit publishing.
As a child, Linda M. Anderson struggled with reading. "I loved to hold and look at the pictures in a book," she noted in a recent Cambridge Publishing interview. With help, she grew up to become not only an avid reader, but also a writer and publisher. Today, she heads Linda's Free Library, a nonprofit organization providing free children's books to hospitals, libraries and community centers. "I started writing books for people like me," shared Anderson. "My desire is that my books help [people] of any age to read. The whole world is yours when you can read." Now thriving in her fifth year with Linda's Free Library, Anderson has realized her dream of encouraging literacy among youth and promoting social good. Now through the iPhone and iPad, she is very excited about the new frontier of electronic books.
Distinguished for her passion for literacy, she oversees all operations of the organization including publishing, marketing, finance, cover design and book layout, children's workshops and writing. In addition, Anderson is a proud member of Mane Cause, a community service group. A published author, she has completed studies in a variety of fields from animal science and nursing to event planning and Apple Developer. In the future, she hopes to become a public speaker knowledgeable about dyslexia.
