Dorothy A. Peterson embarks on a professional writing career with "Small Talk"
WAUPUN, WI, September 14, 2010 /Books PR News/ -- Dorothy A. Peterson, Writer, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in authorship.
A native of Fond du Lac, Wis., Dorothy A. Peterson is of a humble background. The youngest of 12 children, she spent a number of her school years at a two-room country school, which catered to grades one through eight. Peterson finished school in Wisconsin and began working as a commercial sewer in different sewing factories, a position she held for 32 years. Inspired by her former teachers as well as her love for children, she took on a position at the Wee Care Child Center in Waupun Wisconsin, where she worked for 12 years. It was during the 10th of the 12 years of working there, she began writing down the children's quotes that she found so amusing. Shortly afterward, Rae Jean Bett started to work with Ms. Peterson and together they observed the children's quotes. The two women chronicled their experiences of student quotes and observations to ultimately piece together "Small Talk," a light-hearted, fun book, which contains irreplaceable experiences from the vantage point of the two dedicated day care teachers.
Published through Rose Dog Books, "Small Talk" is available for purchase through amazon.com in both paperback and Kindle Edition format. Ms. Peterson is currently in the midst of penning another book, entitled "Pete's Place - A Cabin in the Woods," which she looks forward to having published in the coming year. Her other works that are awaiting publication include "Monkey Skunk," "The Magic Window," "Day Care Bunny Center," "Grandma's House" and "Grandpa's Cabin." Already having appeared at a number of events, Ms. Peterson is available for books signings, public speaking engagements and interviews.
