Justin Kramon to Host Baltimore Writers Workshop on 5/15

Debut novelist Justin Kramon will conduct a complimentary workshop in Baltimore on Sunday, May 15th at 2PM designed to provide resources for writers trying to publish their short stories, find an agent, or place a novel with a publisher.

    CARY, NC, April 29, 2011 /Books PR News/ -- Finding a Literary Agent

An award-winning writer and Iowa Writers' Workshop alumnus, Kramon's work has appeared in places such as Glimmer Train and Fence. He is the author of the highly praised coming-of-age novel, Finny (Random House, 2010). It took an embarrassing number of attempts to find the publisher for Kramon's novel, so he thought it might be helpful to other writers to compile some of the resources he drew from to get Random House to take pity on him.

Kramon said, "While I was writing Finny I often wished that all of this information were gathered in one place, so I've structured this seminar in order to convey concrete and specific information, such as lists of agents and places to submit fiction, and will also share examples from my own successes and failures in publishing, such as the query letter I sent to my current agent."

Seminar For Maryland and DC-area Writers

Kramon has previously received praise from his visits to Maryland's Columbia Writers Group and the Rockville Writers Group. Kramon's latest workshop will be held at the Johns Hopkins Barnes & Noble (3330 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD, 21218) on Sunday, May 15th from 2PM-4PM. Writers are encouraged to bring questions about the publishing process. The event is free and open to the public but seating is limited. If you'd like to reserve a seat please email taralynne@taralynnegroth.com. Kramon will also sign copies of his novel.
